I’m Ana, and I’m here to help therapists like you break free from the stress and limitations of agency work and build a thriving, fulfilling private practice.
My journey into private practice started out of frustration and a desire for more freedom. I began my career working in a residential treatment facility. While I wanted to focus on developing my clinical skills and truly helping clients, I found myself caught up in office politics and long hours (even on-call nights) that didn’t align with my values. I had just had my first child and realized how much I was missing out on time with him. The 7 a.m. start time and lack of flexibility were driving me crazy—I longed for the ability to make my own decisions and set up my career to fit my lifestyle, rather than the other way around.
At the time, I didn’t even know what private practice was or how to get there. I literally Googled “how to find a therapist.” I started looking on Psychology Today and realized that some of the therapists worked at the same place. I found that place on social media and messaged them to see if they were hiring. That was my first introduction to the possibility of working independently. I realized then that I had the potential to create a career that worked on my terms.
Two years later, I left that group practice and ventured out on my own, and I’ve never looked back. I’ve had the privilege of managing a group of other therapists and administrative employees and navigating the complex process of credentialing with insurance companies, including Medicaid. I’ve since transitioned to private pay, which has allowed me to make more money than I even expected.
The best part? I now have the freedom to spend more time with my family and experience less stress than ever before. I’m doing work that I’m passionate about, and my clients know because I’m GREAT at doing what I do.
As I see so many clinicians struggling in agency work, I feel a deep urge to shout from the rooftops: You don’t have to live this way. With the right guidance and support, you can be fulfilled in your work, not burned out. You can choose the clients you love working with—the ones who inspire you and make you feel energized as a clinician. When you love the work you’re doing, you do it better. And when you do it better, you bring more value to your clients—and ultimately, you get paid more for it.
If you’re ready to take the leap into private practice, I’m here to guide you every step of the way. Let’s make your dream practice a reality.
